How to Update a Tired Sofa
If your sofa is looking a little tired then you can update it with simple tricks.
New Throw Pillows
One of the easiest ways to update an old sofa is to get some new throw pillows. Throw pillows are able to transform the ambiance and you are able to play switch pattern, shape, size and material. Throw pillows come in various styles so you can transform your sofa with colour, pattern and texture to breathe new life into your tired sofa.
If you have a simple sofa and want it to look more formal then you can add nailhead trim. Choose the lines of the sofa that you want to accent and nail in the tacks. You need to be sure to choose a solid part of the frame so that you have a solid foundation to nail the trim into.
Stuff Saggy Cushions
If your sofa is saggy then you will be able to make it look a lot better by stuffing the cushions. Take the cover off and wrap the cushions in a layer or two of quilt batting or foam wrap. You can secure it in place with a spray adhesive. If there are still saggy spots then you can fill these with cotton batting.
Change the Legs
You can give your sofa a subtle and effective look by switching out the legs. Generally sofas will now have screw in legs. If you struggle to find new legs then why not spray paint the old ones to a new colour.

Change what is Around
You are able to completely update a piece by changing what is around it. you can put some new art on the wall over the sofa, some new wallpaper or even new side tables and lamps can change the look. When your sofa is surrounded by different and beautiful things then your sofa may look different too.
